Corporal Works of Mercy Outreach

Below, we provided for you a list of ministries that our church is involved in:

  • Social Concerns at the parish level – outreach to the home bound, sick, and elderly.
  • Thanksgiving dinner – hosted and prepared by the parishioners for anyone in need.
  • Food Drives held throughout the year to support the Sr. Regis Food Ministry at St. Frances Xavier Cabrini Parish .
  • Clothing Drives- Jesse Tree and Lenten Projects to support various Catholic and neighborhood organizations, e.g. La Casa, ABC Headstart, Alternatives for Battered Women.
  • Support of our Troops – (books, cell phone minutes, snacks and personal items)
  • Support of city school students by providing school supplies and clothing.

Spiritual Outreach:

  • Seasonal devotions in English and Polish (May and October Rosary devotions, St. Ann’s Novena, Our Lady of Czestochowa Novena).
  • Bible study groups in Spanish and English • Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius in Spanish (English alternative is offered.)

Inviting the surrounding communities to share the cultural heritage of the Polish people and providing a Catholic presence through:

  • Polish religious and cultural traditions (e.g. Christmas Eve Pasterka, Christmas Jaselka, Easter Swieconka).
  • Having prayer services/Masses for notable civil holidays and national crises such as Sept. 11th, Memorial Day etc.
  • Carrying on visible traditions such as the Corpus Christi procession to outside altars. Host Site for the ‘wider church’

Polish Organizations including: Polish National Alliance, Polish Language School, Polonia Civic Centre, Polish Self Support Group, Polish Literary Society, Polish Community Archives.

  • Holy Rosary Society.
  • The various ministries provided by the Sisters of Mercy.
  • Friends of St. Stanislaus.
  • ABC Headstart Program- building leased.
